A question: How many Nehemiah Poseys are there? In these few messages I count at least 3 Nehemiah Poseys. I haven't as yet examined any of the originals of these citations and that would probably answer my question, but in the meantime, has anyone already worked on this? First, from Helen's message of May 12, 2000 Nehemiah and Richard Posey were in Montgomery Co., AL in 1830 and 1840 censuses and in later censuses give their birthplaces as SC. Second, from the 1830 Census CD (see my earlier message 5/23/2000) Nehemiah and Mark Posey in Orangeburg Co., SC in 1830. Third, from Cheryl Hemingway's message (5/23/2000) Nehemiah Posey, for whom the application of letters of administration of his estate was dated 18 Nov 1820. (See the Milledgeville Newspaper, Milledgeville GA, 28 Nov 1820). Cheryl said "This Nehemiah Posey was a son of Francis Posey of Orangeburg District/County, SC.
