Helen, I don't know if this is the same Nehemiah Posey, but I have a census reference showing a Nehemiah Posey still in Orangeburg Co., SC in 1830 (see below). I am interested in Nehemiah Posey because he (one of them?) is involved in a land transaction in Edgefield Co., SC, (1 February 1797) in which my ancestor Zachariah Posey is one of the witnesses. Nehemiah Posey, yeoman, is "of Orangeburgh". This Nehemiah Posey was a son of Francis Posey of Orangeburg District/County, SC. He moved to Pulaski Co., GA where he died.
