Dear Brenda Brewer and other interested readers-- I was reviewing a message you had placed in Rootsweb 5 Jun 1999 to Gene Gentry regarding the Posey line. Perhaps you can shed some light on my search for the parents of an ELIZABETH POSEY, b c1750. She married 1) a HUFFMAN and they had two children ADAM and SALLY (SARAH). She married 2) ROBERT SIDNEY ADAIR in 1774. They had children ROBERT SIDNEY AND NANCY. The ADAIRS moved from VA (county unk) to Pendleton County SC during the Rev. to avoid harrassment by Tories. However Tories/Indians killed Robert in 1783, 3 weeks before his son was born. Your mention of the marriage of John POSEY III to Elizabeth Adair seems to indicate that the families perhaps lived nearby. Do you know if this marriage was in MD or VA? Did John Posey III have male children other than John IV that could have had child named Elizabeth Posey abt 1750 +/- 5 yrs. Have you put together an outline of the descendants of John Posey?
