One thing for sure, we will never know for sure, for instance if all he did was go around and count the dead, HE might have a little bit of pious going on with him!! as I said "we will never know" but thank you for pointing this out to us, and I do see you are not on our line!!!..... But over the years of reading hundreds of census listings, I have learned that you can't expect it to be exactly > correct. Maybe they didn't know how old they were.
