Another vote for documenting but I also think it is important to not ignore the controversies for our surname lines when we are writing about them. I want future folks who read my Posey stuff to know about the myths, their apparent origins, and why we believe they are myths, so I they run into the material elsewhere down the line, they are already on alert AND if they've already added the mystical generations to their database, maybe they'll rethink it before they pass on the misinformation. I have 4 other lines with similar great old stories, a couple of "leap-of-faith" connections to 2 different Vice-presidents, etc. etc. I don't ignore any of them but try to discuss it so any newcomer will no be led too far astray.
