David Berryhill Posey in La.). I have examined only a few Texas documents,but they were sufficient to confirm that Capt.D.B. Posey of Texas and David Berryhill Posey of Catahoula and Franklin Parishes in La. are one and the same. There are numerous documents in the courthouses of the above parishes bearing D.B.'s signature. I can recall one in particular that I deemed to be a copy or a forgery.I suppose it is possible that a court recorder made a copy of the original document and filed the copy. For some reason, there seem to be some documents unavailable in Texas.For instance, where is D.B.'s certificate of character(passport)?It is indeed strange that the Indiana branch of the family remains silent regarding Capt. D.B.Posey. Our family's oral tradition says that he was from Indiana.
