Posted on: Posey Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Posey/160 Surname: ------------------------- My Dearest Carolyn, I had spoken with one of your husband's cousins in TX who is a land lawyer several years ago. He stated you still could sue the Hays County Hypocrites for the land grant and get information on DB Posey in that manner. He stated you would never be able to acquire any property since they would O.J. you to death. Supposedly this could be done on many properties including downtown San Marcos. The DB Posey Land Scam free ranch property is located on RR 12 one mile west of San Marcos directly across from the San Marcos Baptist Academy. The eastern fence of this property is straight across RR 12 from the Academy entrance and the western boundary is a high fence which is unmistakable. A black water tank is located along the highway halfway across the property. The entrance gate bears a small yellow sign reading Freeman Ranch which is Southwest Texas State University. I think you should bear in mind most of the courthouse records have probably been sabotaged by local Baptists. Pretty sad isn't it. I guess the New York Times would love this one. Battling Baptists sue each other over historical information long kept silent. Actually, these people have known who DB Poseys descendants were for decades and kept quite about it. If a prize bull shows up in your pasture then by all means keep quite and don't tell the owners you have it. There are those in San Marcos who would like to say something about this but are scared too. Why are they scared Carolyn? Because they fear retaliation from powerful local gentry who are Good Christians. Yes Good Christians are people who move into an area and slaughter the local inhabitants and then like good little hypocrites set up a system where stealing, lying, and killing are not acceptable unless you are a member of the upper class. These are the same type people who would have a President killed on a crisp autumn day and set beside you in church the following Sunday and tell you how much they love Jesus. The appearance of looking good is all that matters. The DB Posey Land Scam was such a method to look good in the eyes of the populace and many local residents actually believed this garbage. So why won't the Good Christians give you any information and look down upon you like trash. SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY CAN. It's a power thing. If your husband were a member of the James River Country Club he would already have this requested information. It's really sad but due to the DB Posey Land Scam you may never get any factual information on your ancestor aside from what your local family already had. Even if the Texans gave you some info - how do you know it's true? In the process of stealing his land grant how much information was destroyed, hidden, or lost forever? It's sad but Captain Posey was omitted from history due to greed. The Good Christians from San Marcos have in their possession an oil painting of Captain DB Posey. How do you know this artwork actually resembles your husband's ancestor or was just part of the Land Scam Giveaway? They may have wanted to ask someone is this what your ancestor looked like when in reality they have no idea what he looked like themselves. The Captain Posey in the painting had long flowing black hair down to his shoulders and much resembled a pirate much like Lafitte. The only resemblance to your husband's family was his Aaron Oscar Posey like nose. Then again, Lyndon Baines Johnson had a similar nose so this really doesn't mean anything does it? Next time on Hays County History we will discuss the first ten days your husband's cousin spent in San Marcos back in 1988. Should be an interesting lesson in Posey History. Until then, please ponder over the following information. Lie #1 Anybody who can prove he is descended from Captain DB Posey will be given a free ranch. Lie #2 His name is not David - his Christian name was DB. Lie #3 He didn't fight in the Texas Revolution he was just an ole indian fighter. Lie #4 In 1988 one of your husband's cousins asked SWTSU officials for information on DB Posey and they said they had none - that was just an ole legend around town. But if he could prove he was descended from DB Posey they would give him a free ranch. He offered documentation of descent from David Berryhill Posey but University officials declined to view this material. How would you like it if someone said you were descended from a warrior and refused to give you any info on him? And Besides * How can one determine if one is descended from Captain Posey if you aint got no info on him?* If they had no info on him then how did they know he fought in the Grass Fight and was born in 1805? Sincerely, Dago Bear
