Hi Listers, In the 1790 Federal Census of Charles County Maryland there are 23 households headed by Posey's. Of those 23 households there are 14 with male Posey's under the age of 16. Between those 14 households there are 31 male Posey's under 16. One of them is my ggg grandfather H. Ashwell Posey b. abt. 1788. Our problem is that we don't know what the "H." is an abbreviation of. I've spent countless hours at the LDS FamilSearch web site trying to locate all 31 of the male Posey's under 16 listed in the 1790 census. So far I've come up with the names of 21 of them. Only one of the 21 has a name beginning with an "H" and that is Henry b. 1788 {the right yr.}, son of Roger and an unk. wife. Henry is my leading candidate so far, but there's still 10 male Posey's under 16 whose names I don't have. I'm hoping that with your help I can find out the names of the remaining 10 male Posey's in the census. If I can eliminate those 10 along with the other 20 then I'll have found my link back to Francis {if I can verify that H. Ashwell is Henry}.
