    3. Thanks, Karen Fieldstad, for your timely post! I've not been able to visit the cemetery at County Line Christian Church, though I don't live too far from Brooks, Georgia, but I have long wished to do so, for several reasons. Thanks to the information that you've added by your visit, I think that I can now identify the people in your list. James Posey (b. 5 Mar 1813; d. 28 Mar 1906) was identified by his 2nd great grandson, John Posey Spencer Woods, in Lloyd Posey's book; he was identified as James D. Posey, son of Rev. Humphrey Posey (b. 12 Jan 1780; d. 28 Dec 1846) and Lettice Jolly (b. abt. 1782; d. 22 Jun 1842). Elizabeth Ann Posey (b. 3 Nov 1822; d. 4 Apr 1882) was the wife of James D. Posey. Rev. Humphrey Posey was a famous Baptist missionary among the Cherokee Indians (a copy of his biography may be found in rare books collection at Woodruff Library of Emory University, Atlanta, GA); I believe that he was the son of Francis Posey and Mary Kimzey, of Buncombe County, NC, and the grandson of Thomas Shuttleworth Posey and Elizabeth Ratcliff. Since other sources have indicated that the children of James D. Posey and his wife Elizabeth Ann were also buried in the cemetery of County Line Christian Church, circumstantial evidence strongly suggests that Jessie George Posey (b. 2 Mar 1848; d. 24 Jan 1922) was their son; Ida Jones Posey (b. 24 Nov 1856; d. 20 Jan 1945) was the wife of Jessie George Posey. Carl Posey (b. 10 Dec 1880; d. 3 Dec 1955) and Grover Posey (b. 8 Aug 1885; d. 8 Oct 1943) were both sons of Jessie George Posey and Ida Jones Posey. Clara Mask Posey (b. 20 Oct 1890; d. 2 Oct 1978) was the wife of Grover Posey. Emma Clara Mask Posey was also a distant Posey cousin to her husband Grover Posey. She was the 2nd great granddaughter of John Chambers, Jr., and Martha Frances Posey Chambers. I would be very interested in corresponding with descendants of James D. and Elizabeth Ann Posey, and most especially with descendants of Grover Posey and Emma Clara Mask Posey. I would also be glad to hear from anyone with an interest in the family of Rev. Humphrey Posey. Thanks again to Karen for your unselfish contribution to Posey family history. Sincerely, Rev.
