Kay, I noticed your e-mail address and was wondering if your last name is Linn. My maiden name was Posey and my grandmother was a Lynn. I thought perhaps that we may both have a Posey-Lynn connection. Posted on: Posey Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/Posey/143 Surname: POSEY, RIGG, BEAUCHAMP, ANDREWS, BARKER, MAHON, BUCHANAN, PROCTOR ------------------------- I am interested in this group of West VA folks who were there from about 1800 to 1818. Most of the Posey's seem to have stayed there, but I believe they came to that part of West VA together from Charles County. I used to think that these Posey's were related to the Fairfax County Posey's, the ones that descend from Cpt. John Posey. I think I figured out that they descended from Charles County Posey lines though they were all originally descended from the early settler, first in VA then in MD, called Francis Posey. Will be glad to share my Posey info, but you need to give me a week or so to get it together and find time to enter and send. My folks are: Charles and Rachel Barker Rigg and Charles's siblings,Benedicta Townley Rigg (married Archibald Melrose), Rebekah Rigg (who married Manlove Beauchamp). Their father was Townley Rigg of Charles County, MD, grandfather, Thomas Rigg (died 1761). These folks travelled with Posey's, Philpott's, Warrens, Hannahs and others, some south, but my Rigg family members moved west to Wood in 1800.

What is the date for the current issue -- Aug or Sept? Are any subscribers researching the POSEY family in Sevier or Greene Counties in East Tennessee? If so, I would be interested in corresponding. Thank you. C. Ward CMW12635@aol.com
