I have a Thomas Posey, Lt. Col. 1740-1818 m. Mary Alexander Thornton. He was from Spotsylvania, Va. Died in Shawneetown, Ill. His father was Capt. John Posey the 3rd. 1711-1771. There are probably a lot of Thomas Poseys, so let me know if you think this is yours......Ginnie

Poseys were listed on pages 421 to 423. I located it at the Georgia Historical Society in Savannah, but it may be available elsewhere. Hope the information is helping my extended Posey "family". Rita, Linn is a married name, and as far as I know, there is no connection's with the Posey line there. My gg grandmother was a Posey and married a Shafer, which is my mother's maiden name. Sorry there is no connection. Kay
