My great grandmother's (Marion Hyde) birth certificate states she was born at 1 Sutton Road in 1905 and was registered by a Thomas D Rollinson (Occupier), on looking up this name on the 1901 census I found that he was master of the Kidderminster Workhouse at 1 Sutton Road. On the certificate the date of birth, place of birth, mother's name and occupation are all that are recorded. It is not usual practice I was wondering if it is because the mother, Olive Hyde, died. The only information I have on her existance is what's on the certificate, since she does not appear with Marion in the 1911 census.
