In 1930 she has made her way to California, where she stayed until her death. Its the beginning of her life that is the mystery, and quite who her father really was. I have a possible baptism entry,(in Norfolk England) which just gives her mother as a 'single woman from the Wortwell workhouse'. Clues from the US Census' and Ellis Island records,(the given place of birth) point to this being her, but I still have a small doubt, and I'm a stickler for getting it right!!
