Her birth certificate gives not only this information but also the fact that her mother was living there, and that she worked as a domestic servant at an address in London (10 Shaftsbury Avenue, Plaistow). Armed with all this information I thought I would easily find either of them in the 1891 census records, but I cannot. Has anybody any idea why?
