I have what I believe to be my GGrandfather Patrick Pollard that enlisted in Lexington, Ky. in 1872. I cannot be positive that it is him but I have a high level of confidence. He said he was from Tipperary on his re-enlistment documents in 1877. His first enlistment stated he was a store clerk. Family history said he was very good with horses and worked in the Buffalo Bill show later in the 1880's. I recently found that the horsemanship was accurate as his other sibling that remained in Ireland were known to be very good with horses. Any connection with Lexington or Tipperary. I always wondered how Patrick made his way to Lexington and then to enlist in the army. I figured that maybe he knew other Pollards there that had left Ireland before him at went on to meet them. Any connection/information would be great. There is red hair in the family but no twins so far that I know of.
