Thanks for your reply. I believe Francis Pollard (wife Betty Phelps) was the brother of my ancestor Joseph Pollard of Amelia Co VA. Francis and Joseph were the sons of George Pollard in Amelia Co VA. (Francis born about 1720 and Joseph born 1728 appx.) This is the George Pollard that I am trying to find information for prior to 1736. He shows up in Amelia Co just as it is being designated a country from Prince George Co---he receives a land grant in 1737. He and Francis are listed on the early titheable lists of Amelia Co. When Francis reached age 21 he left home and lived in Lunenburg Co for a while with another family while Joseph (my ancestor) stayed with his father in Amelia Co.
