GEORGIA} This indenture of three Parts made this twenty eight day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred and ninety four between Barrett Brewer of the County of Warren and State aforesaid of the first part - William Pollard Senr. and Francis Tennille of the second part - and Melinda Pollard Daughter of the said William Pollard Senr of the third part that for and in consideration of a marriage intended by God's permission to be shortly had and solemnised between the said Barrett Brewer and the said Melinda Pollard and of the sum of two hundred pounds lawful money of the State aforesaid to be had and received by the said Barrett Brewer as a marriage portion with the said Melinda Pollard and for that a competent support may be had, made and provided for the said Melinda Pollard in case the said marriage shall take effect and for afsuring and settling the negroes herein after mentioned to and for the several uses interests and purposes herein after limited and declared pursuat (sic) to the agreement made upon the contract of the intended marriage he the said Barrett Brewer hath given bargained and sold Jefse (Jesse), George, and Rittah unto the said William Pollard Senr. and Frances Tennille their heirs and afsigns to and for the several uses interests and purposes herein after mentioned limited and en and declared that is to say to the use and behoof of the said Barrett Brewer from and after the solemnization of said marriage during the turn of his natural life and from and after the determination of the estate to the use and behoof of the said William Pollard Senr and Frances Tennille and their heirs for and during the natural life of the said Barrett Brewer in trust yet nevertheless in trust to permit and suffer the said Barrett Brewer and his afsigns to receive and take the rights to his own proper use during his natural life and from and after the decease of him the said Barrett Brewer to the use and behoof of the said Melinda Pollard his said intended wife and her heirs and afsigns forever provided also and it is hereby declared covenanted and agreed upon by and between all and every the said parties to these presents and it shall and may be lawful to and for him the said Barrett Brewer during his life and after his death for the said Melinda Pollard his intended during her life in case the said marriage shall take effect by any writing or writings under his or her hand and seal respectfully attested properly and not otherwise to have (crossed out) hive the said negroes to any person or persons whatsoever reserving to the said Melinda Pollard his intended wife the Profits there of any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding in witnefs whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year above written Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Barrett Brewer Henry Dixon H.
