Another son of John and Margaret appears to be James (b. abt. 1726) whom I have placed as father of Robert Pollard of Abbeville Co., SC . Robert's son, Thomas Braxton (yes!!!) Pollard (1807-1841) was my wife's 2-great grandfather. Theron Smith Hi, Theron! Glad to see that you are still digging up ancestors! What precious clues did you find to conclude that James (son of John and Margaret) is the father of Robert? Karen

What precious clues did you find to conclude that James (son of John and Margaret) is the father of Robert?> Both Amelia and I concluded several years ago that James and not Robert was father of Robert, Richard, William, Margaret, and Mary POLLARD of Abbeville and Laurens COs., SC. The NEW thing is that I think John and Margaret Pollard of of Lancaster Co., VA were parents of this James and that one of the Roberts of Lancaster was his grandfather. I'm sending you an attachment with the proof. This is a couple of pages in length. If any others are interested, let me know. I'll either send you the attachment or convert it to an regular post (if there's sufficient interest.) Theron Smith (TL2SMITH@flash.net)
Theron & List, Theron, You mentioned VA. I'm working on the Pollards that moved from VA to White Co., TN abt. 1827. Edward Varner Pollard b. VA, married Tharissa "Thursa" Pettus of Fluvanna Co., VA in 1823. They moved to White Co., TN within 4 yrs. after their marriage; their 3rd child was born in White CO., TN in 1828. Edward Varner Pollard, b. August 4, 1799 VA, d. September 10, 1878, White Co., TN, md. Thairsa (Thursa) Jane Pettus October 29, 1823, Fluvanna Co., VA. Thursa, dau. of John Rhodes Pettus & Anne Bugg of Fluvanna Co, VA, b. August 5, 1802 VA, d. February 11, 1866. I do not know who Edward's parents are. A cousin has Edward's parents as Zacariah & Elizabeth (Varner) Pollard, but she doesn't remember where or who gave her the names. Therefore, I do not know the names of any siblings for Edward. The Pollard's are John's (my husband) family I know I'm grabbing at straws!! If any of this sounds familiar, please get in touch with me & I will share the info that I have on the Pollards.
