I haven't ever written before, but finally decided I must ask if anybody might have info on a Walter Pollard who married Salome Woodson. They lived in Troy, MO. Salome was sister to my grandmother, Lily Steel Woodson who married Lewis William Creech in 1904, when she was 16 years old. There was another sister named Rose. I don't know of any descendants from Salome or Rose or even whatever happened to them. The sisters father was Robert L. Woodson and mother was Alice Agnes Steel. I would like to know anything about the Pollard background. Maybe someone that knew of them would know about my Grandmother also. I'm looking for George Washington Pollard (b 1824 NC), moved to Owen Co IN, married Eliza Jane Hord (b 1826 Mason Co KY) in 1848, then settled in Ashmore Coles IL. I believe he may have had at least two sisters: Elizabeth S (b NC 1822), married Stephen Brown (b 1821 OH) in Owen Co IN 1845 and settled in McLean Co IL Isabel F (or A) (b 1826 NC), married Rufus Wood (b 1824 NC) in Owen Co IN 1842 and also settled in McLean Co IL Would appreciate any help, and would be happy to share my Pollard info. Virginie later married a Pollard, and her son, Arthur, and the two daughters took the surname of their step-father temporarily at least. Emma married Henry B. Robinson, and the 1930 census records for Maine or Massachusetts shows Jennie Pollard at 85, the mother-in-law in the Robinson home. Does anyone have any information about the Pollard she married, who pre-deceased her at some point? I also understand she bore a son to him, but the child died in infancy.
