My ggg grandfather Absolom was born in New Kent County on Jan 1, 1760 and your Robert was born on Jan 12 1760 also in New Kent County. How do they connect? I think Absolom came from a James. Who was Robert's father? Let me ask you about your dates for Robert? His wife's birthdate is 26 years later than he was born? Assuming they were married when she was 20, he was 46? Their daughter was born when he was 57? The problem with researching Robert Pollards there is that there were so many. I think the immigrant Pollard was a Robert. Keep in touch.

Joseph Pollards will mentions wife Leah and 14 children. After Leah's death, the heirs instituted a suit to provide for sale of the personal property. The suit was filed in 1830, and the final order was not entered until 1839. At the time of Leah's death, ten children were alive, and George and Thomas had died leaving heirs. Hannah James, the only child mentioned in Leah Pollards 1822 will, was the only child not included in Joseph's will to share in the residuary. Of the thirteen mentioned, Hezikiah apparently died without children as he is not mentioned in the court proceeding. Dan, I have Pollards in Brooklyn and later in Manhattan. The names William, Katherine and Edmond repeat in the family. Interestingly I have a William and Kate also in Brooklyn in 1885. William died in 1888 and Kate remarried. They also had a daughter Katherine. Do you know where your Pollards came from... Irish or English descent? My uncle had mentioned that when they were young in the 1920's they had cousins nearby but no one can remember. Many of them have already been uploaded in the report online at http://www.bagby.org Just to show you how close these two lines remain, here is a site: http://www.pollardandbagby.com/about/ Also, one of our oldest and finest researchers on the Bagby lineage was Dr. Alfred Paul Bagby, D.D. who married Sarah Pollard, both of King and Queen County, Virginia.
