He married a Sarah Carpenter Grannis and his brother Benjamin and Seymor both married Grannis sisters. That is three for three. Benjamin married Laura Grosvenor Grannis and Seymor married Mary Elizabeth Grannis. They lived in Wales Center, NY and must have moved to Pettis, MO as the second child was born in 1861 in MO. I have no record as to what happened to Seymor and Mary. Looking for anything to move to the next level. Thanks

Funeral services for John H. Pollard, retired official of the Illinois Central Railroad, who died Saturday, aged 79 years, will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Pierce Bros. and Co. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery. Mr. Pollard died at his residence, 1436 Albany street, where he lived with his son, E. R. Pollard. Mr. Pollard was an active figure in railroad circles for many years. He was one of the organizers of the Dubuque and Sioux City Railroad and later was master mechanic of the Illinois Central at Centralia, Ill.

Blevins (married name), born 11/7/1884 and died 6/20/1951. Do not know her mother's name, but believe her father's name was Ben Pollard. Cannot find the family anywhere on the census'. Myrtle was born in Arkansas. We believe that Ben was part Chickasaw. Myrtle was married to William Edgar Blevins who lived 7/28/1862 to 2/21/1955. They both lived in Pauls Valley, OK when they died.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Harris Martin Burke Funeral Home, with Deacon George Wagner officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will follow. Memorials may be made to the Children's Miracle Network. Mrs. Causgrove was born Feb. 7, 1943, at Gary, Ind., a daughter of William A. and Claudine (Peterson) Pollard. She married James E. Causgrove Jr. on Oct. 26, 1963, at Chicago. He survives. Fannie Mae (Pollard) Parrack of 320 W. Excelsior St., Excelsior Springs, died Thursday at the City Hospital. She was 65. She was born in Elmira, MO and had lived in Cameron before she moved to Excelsior Springs 24 years ago. She had been a nurse's aide in several nursing homes before she retired. She was Baptist. Her husband Lawrence Ray Parrack died in 1960. She leaves a brother Cecil Pollard, Excelsior Springs; a sister Ruth Davis of Grass Valley California; two grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren. Burial is in the Cameron Memory Gardens Cemetery.

    3. I have a George H. Pollard in the family history born to James Pollard and Scynthia Cate 04-19-1845 in Tenn. The legend is that he went to Texas and no futher inf was found. There is also a note that he married Mary Crew daughter of William Crew and Ann (Nancy) Owens. Does that connect with any of you Texas Pollards.

We were never able to prove it, particularly since the wills back then had been destroyed. I don't have that Major Alfred Pollard (b. 1794 Wake Co, NC; d. Sept 1859 Pilot Rock, Johnson Co, AR; buried Little Piney, Johnson Co, AR) had a brother named Benjamin. Doesn't mean he didn't, just that I don't have it in my database. At that time we weren't able to prove who his parents were. I do have that he had these siblings: Dorcas Pollard (m. ??? Smith), Elizabeth "Betsy" Pollard (m. Thomas Steele), and Rebekah/Rebecca Pollard (m. ??? Loftis). I have that Dicie Ann Stewart's (b. abt 1805; d. 1842-1845 Nr Dover, Pope Co, AR; buried Pollard Cemetery - now called White Church Cemetery, Dover, AR) parents were William "Bill" Stewart and Margaret Judith Caroline Stevons/Stevens. So far, I have as siblings of Dicie: James "Jimmie" Stewart, Joseph "Joe" A. Stewart, Elizabeth "Betsy" Stewart, and Mildred "Millie" Stewart (m. Silas Wright). I do have Harriet Elizabeth Pollard (Sept 1, 1833 Davidson Co, MO; d. Apr 24, 1883 Cross Timbers, Hickory Co, MO; d/o Major Alfred Pollard and Dicie Ann Stewart) m. Anderson Hodges. Have you been able to find out who Major Alfred Pollard's parents were?

And did your Celia Stewart have a sister named Dicie Ann Stewart? I have those two in my family, it seems strange both Pollard's married Stewart's. My great grandmother was Harriet Elizabeth (Pollard) Hodges. She was born in TN, 1833. She died in 1883 and buried at the Walker/Wright Cem. in Cross Timbers, Hickory Co., MO. Her father Major Alfred Pollard died in the 1850s, either Polk or Johnson Co, AR.
