Diana, I am receiving the same thing except mine is supposedly from m.e. pollard. My Norton strips it of it's attachment, saying it has a virus/worm attached. My grandfather is John Pollard, born Burnley Lanc 1919. His parents are Alice Ann Alderson (I have a lot of info on her) born Reeth 1889 and John James Pollard born Burnley(?) 1879. John James' parents were Alderson Pollard and Ellen but that's were I get stuck. I have found a family in the 1881 and 1891 census' but have yet to confirm that it's them. If anyone can help I would be very grateful.
The William Pollard Senr. (II) referred to in the Indenture is the son of William Pollard (I) (my gggggg grandfather) and his wife Elizabeth Gholson, the daughter of Anthony Gholson. William Pollard (I) died in 1747 in Orange County, Virginia and left a will in which he named his son William Pollard (II) (the Senior referred to in the Indenture). William Pollard (II) appears in Wilkes County, Georgia records in the 1780's. His wife was Alcy (family name unknown). They had the following children: James, William (III), Thomas, Joseph, Elizabeth, Alcy (a male), John, Robert, and the Melindy Pollard (who is named in the Indenture). Melindy Pollard married John Barrett Brewer in February 1794 in Wilkes County, Georgia. William Pollard (II) married a second time (at a very old age) on May 30, 1803 in Oglethorpe County, Georgia, Mary Ann Allen and he had a second set of six children by her. John Barrett Brewer in a document on May 20, 1834 in Montgomery County, Alabama declared that he would be seventy-one years old in August next, thus born in August 1763.. He was born in Louisa County, Virginia. His father was Sackville Brewer and his mother was Martha White. John Barrett's father had moved to Charlotte County, Virginia where John Barrett entered military service in January 1781. He served until April. He died on July 6, 1844 in Macon County, Alabama. He and Melindy Pollard had two known children: Sarah White Brewer, born about 1800 in Georgia, married Benjamin Carter Scott, died in 1838 in Macon County, Alabama; and John P. Brewer, married Susannah J. Townsend on August 23, 1833 in Pike County, Alabama. > [Original Message] > From: <bjatkinson@juno.com> > To: <POLLARD-L@rootsweb.com> > Date: 5/23/2004 2:06:30 PM > Subject: [POLLARD] William Pollard Sr. Washington Co GA > > This transcribed document was provided to me my Dot in FL. Theron & List, Theron, You mentioned VA. I'm working on the Pollards that moved from VA to White Co., TN abt. 1827. Edward Varner Pollard b. VA, married Tharissa "Thursa" Pettus of Fluvanna Co., VA in 1823. They moved to White Co., TN within 4 yrs. after their marriage; their 3rd child was born in White CO., TN in 1828. Edward Varner Pollard, b. August 4, 1799 VA, d. September 10, 1878, White Co., TN, md. Thairsa (Thursa) Jane Pettus October 29, 1823, Fluvanna Co., VA. Thursa, dau. of John Rhodes Pettus & Anne Bugg of Fluvanna Co, VA, b. August 5, 1802 VA, d. February 11, 1866. I do not know who Edward's parents are. A cousin has Edward's parents as Zacariah & Elizabeth (Varner) Pollard, but she doesn't remember where or who gave her the names. Therefore, I do not know the names of any siblings for Edward. The Pollard's are John's (my husband) family I know I'm grabbing at straws!! If any of this sounds familiar, please get in touch with me & I will share the info that I have on the Pollards. Hi, Karen, Theron, and other POLLARD family researchers-- I have a Robert POLLARD, born in Virginia about 1770, perhaps earlier, and died in Columbia County, GA just across the GA/SC state line before 5 Sep 1821. He married Martha MARSHALL, the granddaughter of the famous Revolutionary Baptist minister and missionary, Daniel MARSHALL. The theory goes that Robert moved from VA to SC to GA, along with the Daniel MARSHALL ministry. Does anyone have any ideas about the ancestry of this particular Robert POLLARD? Naturally, any help greatly appreciated. Robert is my fourth great grandfather. I am sending this to actually three (3) lists at once, since I know that these families are interrelated. The Henderson's, Pollard's & Scobee's married into each others families in Monroe County, Mo. I did a "little digging" (no pun intended) online and found several cemeteries in Monroe County that had various people buried there. Since I grew up in Monroe County and many of my ancestors are buried there, I was wondering if any one out there in gelealogy land could give me a little help trying to figure out how these folks are related to each other (and to me as well). I have the listing in a Microsoft excel file, (but can cut/paste to another document if necessary). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mike Stockton Cousin
