    3. Looking for Henry (Harry) Pollard who was sworn in as a Police Constable in the Hull Constabulary, East Riding of Yorkshire, on 6 January 1926. He was the son of Frank and Alice Pollard of Hillsboro, Sheffield. Henry was born after the 1901 census, and had an older brother Frank. Any ideas on how to locate descendents much appreciated.

    3. Hello List Members, I have just joined the POLLARD list though I have been doing genealogy research for over 37 years and am on a number of other e-mail lists. I have been "stuck" on my POLLARD line in Georgia for over 30 years in Taliaferro County, Georgia. My James M. (Monroe?)Edmonds/Edmunds m. Sarah Pollard in Wilkes County Georgia, in 1849. They are listed on the 1850-60-70-1880-1900 censuses of Wilkes County, Georgia. They are buried in the cemetery at Rayle, Wilkes County, Georgia, which seems to have gone by a variety of names including the Silvey Cemetery. His sister married Dolphus Silvey. I think that Sarah M. _?_ and Seaborn Pollard were the parents of my Sarah Pollard. They were members of Bethesda Baptist Church in adjoining Greene County, Georgia. From various internet postings of others Seaborn Pollard has a birthday of c. 1790 son of William Pollard and Jame Thompson. Where is the proof of this? On the familysearch.org/Mormon site page I found definite death dates, but no names of the submitters and no original source for the death dates. I have a copy of Lunceford's book of Taliaferro County, Georgia, records. It includes just about everything except the estate records where there was no will. I was in the courthouse at Crowfordville in July. Could not find any estate records for these Pollards if the records were there. Seaborn Pollard d. July 2, 1841 Elizabeth Pollard d. January 5, 1844 (Listed as a daughter at family search. org) Seaborn J. Pollard d. July 18, 1843 (Listed as a son at family search.org) These Pollards seem to have ranged over Wilkes, Oglethorpe, Taliaferro, and Greene County, Georgia, making them hard to trace. Taliaferro County was formed c. 1827 by taking slices out of adjoining counties including Wilkes, Greene and Oglethrope Counties, Georgia. What is the source/reference for these death dates. I have no family tradition or oral history on this branch of the family. Only going by records as I find them that seem to match. POLLARD verical file folder at the new Georgia Archives at Morrow, Georgia, was not helpful either. I will see this this posting works. Something seems to be wrong with my e-mail lists at rootsweb. My posting to the lists are not coming back to me so I don't know what else I am missing. If it does work, I will post more information later from the family group sheet I have compiled on this family. It is extremely interesting to me as my mother and her cousin feel that he (Caleb) may have been born in Chatham. He and siblings were orphaned. Story is that two brothers died in Libbey Prison. My mother (and her brother) are listed in the 1920 census as living in Elizabeth with Caleb C. (Crane) Pollard on Morris Ave. in Elizabeth. My grandfather was unemployed at the time..I have all that information. Caleb's daughter, Claire Crane Pollard (my grandmother) married Hillyard Gibbs Bain. On another genealogy site I have found that Caleb C. Pollard married Katherine Stengel of NYC. Have not signed up for any online sites. Her father immigrated from Germany and our information on him is sketchy as well. Will check out information you provided..it could be an uncle etc. Feel free to email me and thanks so much! Marilyn

I am still searching for my greatgrandfather's parents, and his siblings. I will continue to check out your resources. I am looking for: Caleb Crane Pollard. Born in 1850. Raised family in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Married to Katherine Stengel from NY. Have been searchng for past 3-4 years. This is the only missing link for us. Can take my father's family back to the 1500's - so info on Caleb would give me a fresh start to search out his family. All help would be greatly appreciated. We do have some census info. Again, thank you for all the links. Marilyn

Martha b. 1794 probably married one of Braxton's older sons, but my records aren't that detailed. Try the Rootsweb.com search for Braxton Pollard and look at the descendency information.. Braxton is almost certainly a fairly close cousin to my wife's POLLARD line [VA; SC; TX] that I've traced and I have him back 2 or 3 generations. My wife's gg gf was named Thomas Braxton Pollard.
