Surnames: POLLARD Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hEBBAIB/1281.1 Message Board Post: As I had Pollard relatives in WA, your message caught my eye, altho' I don't have any idea who James was, but since there is 1971 record in the Soc. Sec. Death Index, have you ordered copy of the Appln that James would have filled out when he applied for his SS card, as applicants are asked to give name & birth place of parents?? Of course, you state James was raised in an orphanage so perhaps he did not know names of his parents. In that case, have you checked court records in WA to see if the state or a county was involved in his being placed in an orphanage? I have a friend with similar situation in Oregon who eventually located a file that produced names of parents, but it took a court order to make the info in the file public.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hEBBAIB/1281 Message Board Post: For some years now I have been trying to help the daughter of James Pollard find family on her fathers side. James was born February 21,1904. He was raised in an orphanage in Washington state, believed to have been Spokane Washington. He was in the service we believe and later married a Myrtle Hall. James was a police chief in Harlem Montana as well as Libby Montana before he died in 1970 (per his family and 1971 per SSDI). His social security number had been issued in Minnesota, presumably during military service. If anyone can help us find his family, that would be wonderful!!
