    2. My great greatgrandmother was a Pollard, married to a Vaden. She homesteaded in Indian Territory from about 1880 until her death (I don't have that at the office), had 8 children, four of whom died. She had a network of Pollard relatives from North Texas to Eastern Missouri. The area where they lived is just south of OKC. 3. Cross posted to Greene, Taliaferro, Oglethorpe, Wilkes County, Georgia lists. TO: Pollard list members researching in Georgia and Virginia. Can any of the Pollards listed in the two previous messages about Pollards in Georgia be traced back to early Greene, Taliaferro, Oglethorpe, or Wilkes County, Georgia??? To William Pollard m. Jane Thompson Virginia??? My lineage comes from James Edmonds m. Sarah Pollard in Wilkes County, Georgia, in 1849. They are buried in the cemetery at Rayle, Wilkes County, Georgia, that has gone by several differnent names including the Silvey Cemetery. He died in late 1900. James Edmonds' (sometimes spelled with a "U" and other ways0 oldest sister married Dolphford (spelled various ways) Silvey. After pieceing together bits and pieces of information over these several Georgia counties, I think her parents were Seaborn Pollard, Sr. and Sarah M. _?_ who were members of Bethesda Baptist Church in eastern Greene County, Georgia. I have also identified some brothers and sister for Sarah Pollard Edmonds. I think that Seaborn Pollard, Sr. died in Taliaferro County, Georgia, sometimes bwetween 1840-50. His widow and some of the family later moved to the Greensboror area of Greene County and one, it appears, slipped over in to Oglethorpe County. Seaborn Pollard, Sr. is supposed to have been a son of this William Pollard Rev. Sol. from Virgninia. My own research only goes back to Seaborn Pollard, Sr. m. Sarah M. _?_. The next connection I have picked up from various researchers on the internet. Is anybody else on the list related to this line??? 1. Re: [POLLARD] Re: Sophia Pollard Died:1851 in Bedford Co, VA
    2. Thanks for your reply. I believe Francis Pollard (wife Betty Phelps) was the brother of my ancestor Joseph Pollard of Amelia Co VA. Francis and Joseph were the sons of George Pollard in Amelia Co VA. (Francis born about 1720 and Joseph born 1728 appx.) This is the George Pollard that I am trying to find information for prior to 1736. He shows up in Amelia Co just as it is being designated a country from Prince George Co---he receives a land grant in 1737. He and Francis are listed on the early titheable lists of Amelia Co. When Francis reached age 21 he left home and lived in Lunenburg Co for a while with another family while Joseph (my ancestor) stayed with his father in Amelia Co. I am really having difficulty finding anything about George Pollard before 1736---was he in Amelia Co or did he come there from some other county and who were his parents etc? ________________________________________________________________ Juno Gift Certificates Give the gift of Internet access this holiday season. http://www.juno.com/give

    3. I am working on Virginia Pollards who moved to White Co., TN around 1827 / 1828. Edward Varner Pollard, Sr. & his wife, Thairsa "Thursa" (Pettus) Pollard were in White Co., TN by Mar. of 1828 as their 3rd child, William, was born here in White Co. Edward Varner Pollard, b. August 4, 1799, VA & Thairsa "Thursa" Jane Pettus, b. August 5, 1802, VA, married October 29, 1823, Fluvanna Co., VA. Thursa is the dau. of John Rhodes Pettus & Anne Bugg of Fluvanna Co., VA. I have the names of Thursa's siblings as they are named in John Pettus's Will but, the only info that I have on Edward Varner Pollard is that he could be the son of Zachariah Pollard & Elizabeth Varner. If any of this sounds familiar to any Pollard researcher, I would appreciate hearing from you. I have quite a bit of info on Edward & Thursa after they moved to White Co., TN that I will share. Edward & Thursa are my husband's g-g-grandparents & they are buried in the Pollard Cemetery here in White Co., TN.
