    3. You should make sure to check the handwritten (the actual scans) version of these documents with names that are similar. The 1920 census was elusive for me for a long time until i found that the transcriber had messed up and changed "Yakimicki" to "Yamich" or something along those lines. It would not show up on any searches because the name was spelled so incorrectly that soundex wouldn't even pick it up.
