    3. I was wondering if anyone knows of which Church to contact (presumably catholic) in Sulkowice (formerly in the Krakow voivodship...now the Lesser Poland voivodship). My family is originally from there, but I cannot find any "real" information on the internet about it. From what I can tell it is a very small town. Also, if there is a known phone directory, that could be useful as well. On another note....I was infromed by a pretty reliable source that we had an "Uncle" Dr. Benedykt Dybowski (1833-1930). Now, I know the basic history of him from what I have gathered on the net, but his family history is VERY vague. He has a brother Wladislaw b.1838 and his father was Jan, but I am trying to find a connection somewhere within the 3rd generation. If anyone knows of a book that might be helpful or anything that could be useful I would VERY much appreciate it. If anyone has any information that might help....I thank you, deeply, in advance. 3. Hi John, Just a pssing comment: It seems strange to have Malopolskie called the Lesser Poland. I guess Washington would be hard to translate into Polish words, but in Poland they also call it Washington. :) Smile ... I think Malopolskie sounds better. http://mapa.szukacz.pl/ is a website for finding places on a map in Poland. There are 8 places named Sulkowice. There are a few near Krakow. Do you have any idea in what gmina or powiat this place is located? If you know that you can use this website to get a little history on the place and learn in what the parish was: http://www.dir.icm.edu.pl/dirop/index.php/Slownik_geograficzny/Tom_I/1 They are in Polish. If you do not know the language, you can use these two sites to translate the words into English: http://www.poltran.com and http://www.pogonowski.com/Slowniki/pol-ang/pol_ang.php You have to use the Polish alphabet to use all but the first website. The first website will give you the proper Polish spelling for places. You can copy and paste the correct letters of the alphabet, if you have not installed them into your computer.
