Hi Jane, Thank you for calling Ancestry.com. I'm at work, and would have had to wait until tonight to do it. Please keep us posted on what they have to say. Have you forwarded them the letter from this company? Did they have anything to say about FTDNA? That's where I had my cousins DNA tests made, as have all of the other people with their surname. We are doing a Y chromosone study on them because everyone in the US doing research on this surname had hit a brickwall. We have been grouping the DNA studies to learn who the ones are more closely related, and working the areas where we know everyone has lived for other records. She did say they were partnered with ancestry.com, and I said I would call them which I did. Apparently, this merger happened this a.m. I expressed my concern to the supervisor I talked with about having to reply to remove my name from their list. She asked that I forward email to her to see how it was being handled. Told her the announcement should have come from ancestry.com so people would know it was legitimate, and, that subscribers should request their name be added. I don't like this 'no response is a positive response' Onus should not be on ancestry.com customer. ----- Original Message ----- From: vellis@jps.net<mailto:vellis@jps.net> To: polandbordersurnames@rootsweb.com<mailto:polandbordersurnames@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 18, 2007 2:17 PM Subject: Re: [PBS] Ancestry.com Partners with Sorenson Genomics I have not heard anything from Ancestry.com on this company. Most genealogy researchers have been using FTDNA. Has anyone heard of this company? Maybe it is just spam.
