Just realised I replied to this commenting on the mikdaj but not really on the surname . Waryszczak is certainly a valid surname but quite uncommon. That should make your search much easier but don't expect to find your ancestor already nicely indexed in Google. I think Google suggests Oryszczak because it looks for something similar when your original search gives very few results (which mikdaj will) I've also just googled Mikdaj and it does come up as a first name although very uncommon (and one of those says Nicholas in brackets so I wonder if they are all typos for Mikolaj) .
