    3. The first letter is definitely not a "P". Check the column to the left where is says Polish and the character is very different. The surname in the 3rd line down starts with the same character, possibly a "J" Jacko, or a "D" Dacko as suggested by Roman. Check a few manifest pages on either side of your particular page and find that letter again in a word you know. Time consuming, but sometimes the only way. Also, letter just prior to the last letter looks more like an "N" (as in Karolina) that a "C".
