Hi listers, I'm wondering if any of you live in Washington and would be willing to do a lookup at the Library of Congress for me? The LOC hold the "Polish Declarations of Admiration and Friendship for the United States." More information on that can be found at http://international.loc.gov/intldl/pldechtml/pldechome.html I have found my grandfather's village listed but unfortunately the entries are not digitized. I have been in contact with the Manuscript Reference Librarian and, unfortunately, there are no plans to digitize the remaining volumes in the collection. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and don't know if I'll ever to Washington so I won't get a chance to see the volumes first hand. For preservation purposes, the LOC will not allow the volumes to be photocopied. Is there some kind soul out there that would be willing to go to the library and take digital photos for me of the three pertinent pages? The librarian advises me that taking photographs is permitted (WITHOUT A FLASH). Thanks in advance!
