    3. I'm so sorry you had the Rabbi Savage block issue. I had the Father Albert issue. I took pictures of the tombstones but when it came to obtaining written archive copies, it took me four years of letters and phone calls.    His Bishop's office finally said he would cooperate with ten lookups of my family surnames.'   Maybe anyone having this similar issue can try going to a High Power. I'm a bit late in response.  It was only this last year that  I received a postive answer to my request for copies of archives.   I also wrote to businesses of the town of Forest City NE PA requesting that someone photograph all teh tombstones in town and microfilm all the Churches' ARCHIVES.   A hIGH sCHOOL TECHNOLOGIST TOOK ON THE JOB FOR HIS STUDENTS IN 11TH GRADE! 3. I personally would not expect a synagogue to take on the task of photographing tombstones. I believe you will have the best luck obtaining the tombstone images you need if you post your request on either the Rootsweb Pittsburgh mailing list or at http://findagrave.com. Here is the mailing list webpage. http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/usa/PA/allegheny.html#PA-PITTSBURGH FindAGrave even has a page devoted to what I believe is the cemetery you are talking about "Beth Hamedrash Hagodal Cemetery", but I did not see that surname listed on that page. If the following url does not work, just do a cemetary search in Pennsylvania from the main findagrave page. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=44375&CScn=beth&CScntry=4&CSst=40& You would have to register first, but you also could search for your family at JewishGen's Online Burial Registry at: http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/cemetery/ They do have many tombstone images there in addition to being a Registry.
