    3. Hi, Bob, The names we found in Sanok archive for deportation to Ukraine were: Maria Chudoba (father Grigorij) born 1875 Katarzyna Chudoba (father Sevelij) born 1907 Sevelij Chudoba (father Iwan) born 1928 Maria Chudoba (father Iwan) born 1926 Josef Chudoba (father Iwan) born 1939 Marta Chudoba (father Iwan) born 1943 Katarzyna Chudoba (father Grzegorz) born 1932 Lidia Chudoba (father Grzegorz) born 1931 With them went Rozalia Krawiec (father Wasyl) born 1924, also part of my family. They all lived in Lukawica, Lesko, near the Ukrainian border until approximately 1944-45. Thanks for checking! Claudia Krawiec Hansen (my great grandmother was Eufroszyna Chudoba.) ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, November 19, 2008 5:25 PM Subject: Re: [PBS] Looking for locations in Ukraine where Ruthenians were deported to ... Hello Claudia, In researching my family, I have found many records (118) of the Chudoba surname from the towns of Draganowka and Poczapince. The towns are now in the Ukraine. My records are up to 1944 but are not complete. If you send me some information I will check my database for possible matches. Bob Okrzynski In a message dated 11/19/2008 7:08:49 P.M. However, I did find a great site, indeks.karta.org.pl/wyszukiwanie, the "Index of the Repressed". It contains searchable names for 203,779 people who were deported to USSR territory. It includes both Jews and members of other religions. I found 10 Chudobas on the site, but they were not the exact ones whose names we found in the Sanok archives from my family who were deported in 1944-45. There are also other agencies, they can refer you to, for further help. Tina Ellis On Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 7:34 AM, usinet.cjh367 <[email protected]> wrote: I discovered on a recent trip to s.e. Poland that 10 members of the Ruthenian Chudoba family were deported to Ukraine in 1944-45. I would value your expertise in how to proceed with researching where they were sent.
