I too have Grabowski's in my family. My grandmother was Mary Grabowski, b. 1907 Detroit, MI, siblings Albert, Theresa, Martin and Joseph. Her father spelled his last name Grabowieckiej, from all records I can find; it was listed with this spelling in the Detroit City Directories from 1900 to about 1925 when it was suddenly shortened and Americanized to Grabowski. The GRABOWSKA - with the A ending would indicate a female. I hope the alternate spelling may be of some help to you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Fri, 21 Nov 2008 07:53:34 -0600 From: Dori Rhody <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [PBS] Records for Piaseczna (Near Zgorzelec) To: [email protected] Message-ID: <[email protected]> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed I am just now getting around to looking at old mail. My husband has a Hedwig Graboska b. 1817 who married Adalbert Nowak . One of their children was Apolonia, my husband ggrandmother. I found records at the LDS saying they were from Roznowo, Obernik Poland. If you think there is a connection, I can find the film number.
