    3. Hi all, since the name TOCZEK appeared recently on the list, I thought I should post one of my searches again. I am not directly related to Toczek, but it appears in my file through the marriage of one of the brothers of my grandfather. This brother was Venceslaus (Wenzel, Waclaw) SWITALA: Venceslaus (Wenzel, Waclaw) SWITALA * 4 Nov 1893 in Rebiechow (Rembiechowo), near Kobylin, former Prussian province of Posen Parents: Franciscus (Franz) SWITALA and Josepha (Jozefa) TYCZEWSKA oo on 30 Dec 1917 in Antoniowka ad Kochawina (Zydaczow), Galicia (now Ukraine) to: Marya PASIERBEK * 2 Jan 1897 in Zawoi (Zawoj) parish of Myslenice (near Krakow?) Parents: Wojciech PASIERBEK (*22 Aug 1866) and Regina TOCZEK (*14 Dec 1867) The parents of Regina TOCZEK are given as Tomasz TOCZEK and Anna ZUREK I also just found through a quick search of the Ellis Island Records that Wojciech TOCZEK probably came to the US (probably just visiting) in 1913. I also could see that several PASIERBEK's from Zawoj came to the US. One family story is that one of our SWITALA's came to the US, but I couldn't prove it yet (My family and I are from Germany and I am currently studying in the US). Given the TOCZEK/PASIERBEK connection I feel like that Venceslaus could be the one, but I guess it will require more lucky punches to actually find this information. If anyone has information about the above, please let me know. Best, Andre (SWITALA)

    3. Where did this Switala live, once they came to America? You give no specifics on American locations for any of your family members. If you can do this, we can run some searches for you. 3. Dear Tina and others, that is the problem - I have no reliable information on anyone from my SWITALA family who came to the US. Here is the story in brief: My grandfather said that a cousin (either his or one of my father's cousins) emigrated to America. Supposedly he went to Texas and was a shepherd. My father is only telling the story from memory, since my grandfather passed away 25 years ago. About a year ago I heard the same story from the descendants of one of my grandfather's brothers, but without the specifics on Texas and the profession. This gives me some hope that it is true, but we don't know any names or any emigration year. Thus it is all in the dark. My grandfather had 5 brothers and 4 sisters: - Joannes (Johann) SWITALA, * 6 May 1880 in Jutrosin (Wielkopolskie) - he probably lived later in Breslau (Wroclaw), at least he was a witness in the marriage of one of his siblings there, no descendants know as of now - Franciscus (Franz) SWITALA, * 2 Jan 1882 in Jutrosin - he later lived in Bautzen (Saxony) - no descendants known as of now - Josephus (Josef) SWITALA, * 29 Nov 1883 in Jutrosin - he got married and lived in Breslau (Wroclaw), later moved to Saxony. Descendants are know and all live in Germany. - Marianna SWITALA, * 7 Nov 1885 in Jutrosin - she got married in Kobylin (Wielkopolskie) to Augustinus TIAPAL, who was from Goslar but born in Bohemia. No other information known. - Stanislaus SWITALA, * 1 Dec 1887 in Jutrosin - my grandfather - all descendants live in Germany - Vladislaus SWITALA, * 27 Jun 1889 in Rebiechow near Kobylin (Wielkopolskie) - according to two notes he may have been married twice, once in Sarnowo near Rawicz in 1913 to Margaretha LORKIEWICZ, the second time in Poznan in 1936 to Veronica ZIEMSKA - nothing else known. - Josepha (Josefa) SWITALA, * 16 Dec 1890 in Rebiechow near Kobylin - nothing else known - Agnes SWITALA, * 8 Feb 1892 in Rebiechow near Kobylin - nothing else known - Venceslaus (Wenzel, Waclaw) SWITALA, * 4 Nov 1893 in Rebiechow near Kobylin, married Marya PASIERBEK in Antoniowka ad Kochawina (Zydaczow) in Galicia in 1917. He was a soldier in the German army at the time. After the birth of his second daughter in 1919 there is no more trace of the family there. Nothing else is known. - Francisca (Franziska) SWITALA, * 29 Oct 1895 in Kobylin - got married and lived in Bautzen (Saxony, Germany) and later moved to Berlin (West). Descendants known, all live in Germany. My great-grandfather Franz SWITALA had one sister and two half-brothers. The half-brothers are: - Stanislaus SWITALA, * 7 Sep 1872 in Rebiechow near Kobylin - nothing else known - Joannes (Johann) SWITALA, * 26 Dec 1873 in Rebiechow near Kobylin. nothing is known for sure, but descendants probably still live in Poland. Since I don't have any more specifics as to who may have come to the US, it will be hard to find anything. Best, Andre Tina Ellis wrote: > Where did this Switala live, once they came to America?
