How do you take "digital copies"? I've heard of other people doing this. A digital copy is an electronic picture. So, if you take a picture of a document with a digital camera, you are making a digital copy. Similarly, if you scan a picture or document, you are making a digital copy. Think of a scanner as an upside-down fixed camera.
