    3. Hello!! about my Sokolowska gr gr grandma Her name is Henrietta Sokolowska born in 1843. She married Carl Baganz (he was a shepherd) and had 9 children. Her oldest (Eduard 6 July 1868, cuttin it close!) was born in Grodzisko (Grodziczno), West Prussia and the younger were born in Labau, Prussia ? and Berlin, Germany ?  (what was it when?) (Lobau, Loebau, Lubawa, Lubawskie). Her marriage was 15 October 1867 in Nuemark, presumably her parents were dead at this time because the consent is "courthouse". Carl gave his baptism record as his permission, how I would love to have that! She was living in Grodziczno when they married, so that is what is listed as her place of "origin". I have located Lobau a short distance from Neumark and Grodziczno in West Prussia. Many of the children emigrated to the US, however, I have no record of Henrietta or Carl coming here. Her father may have been Johann Sokolowski, but I'm not sure. There are listed on some of the christening records of the children Heinrich Sokolowska and Carolina Sokolowski as god parents. I have to do more research in Grodziczno I guess...but the parrish records are where I am finding all of this. --- On Fri, 10/23/09, polandbordersurnames-request@rootsweb.com <polandbordersurnames-request@rootsweb.com> wrote: From: polandbordersurnames-request@rootsweb.com <polandbordersurnames-request@rootsweb.com> Subject: POLANDBORDERSURNAMES Digest, Vol 4, Issue 406 To: polandbordersurnames@rootsweb.com Date: Friday, October 23, 2009, 1:01 AM When replying to a letter, which is in the digest format, please delete the other letters out of your message.  Please, also, change the subject, so the person to whom you are replying understands that your reply is for him/her.
