    3. First thing you need to do is figure out the Polish names of these places. Reason? It's so that those who know the places by their Polish names only will know if it's a place where their ancestor(s) live. They can still give you tips on how to find records in these places even if they are not researching the same names you are. The Kartenmeister is a good tool for doing this: http://www.kartenmeister.com. If you find the place there, it should also tell you the names of the places where the records were recorded: Lutheran parish, Catholic Parish and Civil Register. Once you know that you can check the LDS catalog and the Poland Archives Catalog: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp and http://baza.archiwa.gov.pl/sezam/pradziad.php?l=en. The LDS catalog will tell you if they have microfilmed any records. If you want to rent the film at a local LDS Family History Center, use this site: http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp. Hope this helps steer you in the right direction.
