I edit a number of publications, and frequently am on deadline when I receive requests for information. They pile up, and when I have a chance I try to answer them -- but I never really get caught up. ROMANCZUK in Polish can be spelled two different ways: with plain N, pronounced roughly "rome-ON-chook," or with accented N, pronounced roughly "ro-MINE-chook." While they mean essentially the same thing, "son of Roman," one is a lot more common in Poland than the other.
