January 13, 2009 - Professor Peter Potichnyj will speak to the Toronto Ukrainian Genealogy Group on "The Ukrainian Insurgent Army and its Activities in Zakerzonnia." Don’t miss this opportunity to hear this man of action and an academic of the first order. Among other things, during March, 1945 and October 1947 he served in the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA). He is the author and editor of 22 books and over 100 articles on various aspects of Ukrainian and Eastern European politics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the “Litopys UPA” (The Chronicle of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army) of which to date over 70 volumes have been published. In 2008 he has been decorated by the President Yushchenko of Ukraine with The Order of Merit III Class.
