The 1906 Census for Manitoba, District of Dauphin, Sub-District 21 , p.2, item 8 shows the following: Wasyl Kozak as head of the family, age 36, arriving 1904 first settling in Valley River at 14/27/21/W1 (Born circa 1879-Austria) Catharine Kozak, wife, age 32 (born circa 1874-Austria) Catharine Kozak, daughter, age 9 (born circa 1897-Austria) Anna Kozak, daughter, age 2 (born circa 1904-Canada) Nichola Kozak, son, age - (born circa 1906)--The survey was done on June 25,1906 Harry Kozak, brother, age 20 (born circa 1886) Coincidently, my Ggrandfather's family (Boyachuk) is recorded on the same page as item #12. They were also from Staresiola and came over in 1898. As you probably know it was common for immigrant families to gravitate to the same locales I checked the Hamburg listings for Kozak and Staresiola and the following shows up.(See Kozak pdf attachment) It would appear that a group of Kozaks came to Canada via the port of Halifax, from Frankfurt aboard the SS ALBON. The ALBON left Frankfurt 25 May, 1904. Aboard were alphabetically: Anna - 2 Months Ewa -23 (single)- Probably Wasyl's younger sister Hryc (Harry) -17 (single) Kaszka (diminutive of Katherine?)- 7 Kaszu (Variant of Katharine?) - 30 (Mother) Wasyl - 33 (Father) If this information rings true to your notes and this is your family, then the boat SS ALBON probably arrived in early June, 1904 at Halifax.
