I had hoped someone on the list had tried, because I would trust their experience more than what a phone representative would say. but what they do with the new online ordering system could also have changed from the old days. What it says is it is a "Computer Extract of Social Security Card Application" for the $16 fee at: https://secure.ssa.gov/apps9/eFOIA-FEWeb/internet/main.jsp I would guess it should contain all the information, but wanted to make sure before we wasted money trying to save. I was most skeptical about the name and address at the time of the application, which we also really need. But I just looked at the separate page of instructions for filling out the form, and there it says "Computer Extract of SS-5 (May not contain the name of the individual's parents and the place of birth)" I think that answers my question, it would be a gamble. Too bad, I would like to get some others as well, but the $16 would be a lot more affordable than $27. I'll let you guys know if I find more out.
