I think what you are trying to find is in Ukraine. Using the Shtetlseeker, I found this place. Toda it is called Volodymry-Volyn'skyy, and has had many different names. Polish does not use the letter v in its alphabet, so the names liisted starting with a W are how they would have been spelled when Poland ruled this area. włodzimierski<http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/W%C5%82odzimierz_Wo%C5%82y%C5%84ski> Vladimir, Włodzimierzec, Włodzimierz, Wladimir-Wolynsk, Vlodzimezh, Vladimir-Volynskiy, Vladimir-Volynsk, *Volodymyr-Volyns'kyy*, Volodymir-Volyns'kyy 50°51' 24°20' E<http://www.jewishgen.org/cgi-bin/expediamaps2.pl?&lat=50.8500&lng=24.3333> M <http://www.jewishgen.org/cgi-bin/mapquest.pl?&lat=508500&lng=243333> U<http://www.jewishgen.org/cgi-bin/multimap.pl?&lat=50.8500&lng=24.3333> G <http://maps.google.com/maps?q=50.8500,24.3333+(Volodymyr-volyns'kyy)> Ukraine 272.2 miles W of Kyyiv 50°26' 30°31' Woj. is the abbreviation for the word województwo, which means province. I have found nothing on Motnikow or Wotynsitie. I think that Wotyn- (the beginning of the word) should be Wolyn because of the letter l with the slash through it. Many people mix it up with a t. It could be that the word should be Wolynskie, which was the name of a province. It was part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wojew%C3%B3dztwo_wo%C5%82y%C5%84skie There are maps if you click on a couple of different links. Maybe some members can help you with Ukraine. I am not versed about places in Ukraine. We all kind of have our own area of interest ingrained in us because of the amount of research we do in that specific area. Hello I believe my Heiduck family was from Peterswalde. My family is John Heiduck married to Regina Carol (Kosky) John born 1855, Regina born Mar 1849 and one son Frank born 6 Feb 1884. They came to the states arriving in New York 6 Aug 1884. Another family believed to be from the same town as the above John is Frank and Annie Hydock departed Hamburg 2 Apr 1853 (I have their passenger list ) and it is where I found their residence as Peterwalde, Westpreufen. John and Regina are my gt grandparents and I would like to see if they can be found in Peterswalde. Thank you so much for whatever you can find. Patti Simpson Taylor

No ... there is no single list with all the surnames. The way this website works, we can only place so many letters on a webpage. This is why there is no continuous single list. The Archidiocese of Wilno covered part of today's Poland, Belarus and Lithuania. For those interested in the powiat (county) Suwalski area, there is also a list of surnames found in records from that area. http://www.mem.net.pl/stg/family_names.htm. Hi All, I recieved my grandparents marraige certificate today, and it says my grandfather was born in Rodzom, Poland (Polen). Did a google on this and it comes up pretty empty. I did search www.poland.pl and that came up with plenty of Rodzom. (but in polish) http://search.poland.pl/?qt=rodzom&nm=10&where=0 If i search "R" places in Poland, Rodzom doesnt appear, and i cant really see anything that it could be. Could someone be so kind as to look on the above link for me, to see if they could find what Rodzom is called today. Thankyou, Bobby.
