I am not sure if Bartholemew and Antonia were married in Poland or if each came over individually. Barthlemew may have been married to a Frances or Francesca first while in Poland. I have three relatives in Poland that I know of but I do not know where they live (somewhere around Warsaw) and everyone who did is now gone. One is a doctor but married and I do not know her married name, the second is her mother also with a name change. The third is a well known artist. I have E-mailed one of the studios he was associated with but to no avail. Since he is well known he travels and I have no idea how to contact him. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any help. Marilyn, How should I reply? Yes, the names are similar, as is Marilyn. They all begin with the letter "M". But that's about as far as I would go. Each one is a valid and different Polish surname. Debbie, In a recent reply to you, I noted that Rozwadow today is a district of Stalowa Wola. It used to be a separate town before Stalowa Wola was established. You will not find Musikow within that district, it is a separate village a few kilometers to the northeast of Stalowa Wola. Hello to all, I have returned from my September visit to Poland - to visit my family in Gawrych-Ruda and Brzygiel. It was incredible and I have so many stories to tell now, but life has been somewhat problematic here since I returned and therefore too busy for me to sit and write. I was able to see much of the country side of the Northeast section of Poland and I spent a day and half in Warsaw. Warsaw was great and the countryside of Poland is just so beautiful - really, really beautiful. I also spent three days in Kazimierz Dolny and that town is also unbelievable - like walking in a storybook land. I was very blessed to find my family and they are just great people and I had a most wonderful time and the experience of a lifetime. I will go back to Poland to the family I now know and love dearly. I plan to see much more of this beautiful country, the homeland of my ancestors. Maybe next year, but sure by 2009. I will try to post some of my stories and I would love to hear the stories that Rose has. Rose, if you choose not to put on the PBS site, please include me in your off-line emails to Leah and we can all share. We need to remember something. This may have been written when this was part of Poland. The official language is now Belarusyn. Place names and spellings will have changed. We have to what they are called and how they are spelled today. Hello fellow PBS friends, I'm sure this has appeared on the site numerous times,, but I had no intent on traveling to Poland. I recently found out on first papers from my paternal grandfather that he came from Warsaw. At least that is what is says on the application. I still have not found him on any documents coming into the country or into Canada where they settled. My suspicion is that it is probably somewhere near Warsaw. Since I will be going to Warsaw is there a protocol that I should follow either before I arrive and or is there a particular place that I should go when I get there to look for Jewish records. Don't forget to add Poland as the last word in the address! You should also add the postal code (zip code) for the town. Another suggestion is not to use stamps (The letter may disappear to a stamp collector) but rather ask the post office to put a "stamp sticker" on it. I've had much better luck doing it this way. JD
