    2. Bobby, Some of those concentration camps became DP camps in Germany and Poland ran by the British, Italian, and Americas all known as zones. I found my info on the Holocaust Website also by tying in DP camps on the browser. They have lists of prisoners. The Germans keep good records as well as the Holocaust site. My parents and my sister and brother were in such compounds before so my father could learn to speak English and some American ways. Hope this helps. Krys Murphy </HTML>

    1. [PBS] Mackanis
    2. Judy Linnebach
    3. Teresa, Nee is a wonderful word! It means "born" and is used to signify the maiden name of a woman. You will find it often in obituaries and when you see it you know that you just found a vital piece of information for going back one more generation on the maternal side. I would guess that you saw it after Damicela's name so now you know that your great grandmother was Damicela Mackanis. Judy Hi, I have a small document that says Testimony of Morality on it. Kazimierz Basis (my grandfather) 2.10.1899 (his birth date) Dowboryszki - Poland (place of birth ) I thought he was born in Lithuania....my mom even says so. August and Damicela are his parents (Son-surname of parents) what does nee mean? after nee is says Mackanis This is from a Polish Camp in Germany. Can anyone help?
