I found Rhode Island birth - John W. Carpenter 18 Sept 1900 Parents William A and Mary Carpenter. 1910 Census for Providence, Providence, Rhode Island - Eagle Str. Mary age 36- Canada English- widow had 3 children was a shaker at a laundry. Her mother and father looked like Ire - English O. I don't know what the O was for. Some of the listings had O and others had L.John was 9, Ella 10 and Gertrude 7 All three were born in Rhode Island. Their father was listed as being born Canada English and their mother Canada French. I couldn't find a 1900 Census or 1920. I did find a Rhode Island Birth - Grace V Carpenter born to William A. and Mary Carpenter 30 sept 1901. Oh and I found a Canada Crossing 6 Oct. 1920. for John W. Carpenter.
