    3. My mother just informed me that the Polish National Cemetery is in terrible condition. The Polish National Church closed in Lawrence, Massachusetts and the city has taken the responsibility to take care of the cemetery. Considering the City of Lawrence is not in the best financial condition, cemetery care is undoubtedly low on the city's budget. I don't know if there is a functioning Polish organization in Lawrence, Mass. that could raise funds to the last physical resting place for the Polish community. Maybe someone can share with me (and the rest of the group) with some information about what community Polish groups actually do for the Polish community. I think preservation of the Polish cemeteries would be a wonderful project and it would provide much-needed information about where our Polish ancestors are buried. -- Alan

    3. Alan, Certainly this is a worthwhile community service project for high school kids. Most high schools require community service of their students. I think cleaning a cemetery is more beneficial than some of the questionable projects these kids come up with. Debbie Alan J. 3. Alan: I graduated from a Jesuit College and it was required of the students to take on local projects that would benefit the community, much like make high schools in larger cities require I am sure. Also, just think the the historical benefit to any age student who may decide to participate in such a project.
