Dear Jane, it's not strange for Greek Catholics being in Poland. They are Catholics, but of Eastern rite, and are called "Uniates" for their full link with Roman Catholic Church. If I well remember "Kosciol Greckokatolicki" of Poland has two dioceses (Przemysl and Wroclaw). Italy also has a couple of dioceses of of Greek rite, in particular for communities originating from Albania. Every big Catholic community coming form Russia and border countries has everywhere, in US also (for instance in Canton, OH, for Romanians), his own church and sometimes his own bishop. Info about rites in R.C. Church at <http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0015/__P3C.HTM>. Ciao! Guido
