List: Noticed something in a posting a few days ago and thought "that's a common mistake". Poster said (paraphrasing)--photo is dated 1936 so I will look for a death AFTER that date,ie,1937. WROMG! START with that date--grandma may have died ten minutes after the photo was taken so you would search an index/database starting with a 1936 date and onwards. {Of course, I have some photos taken after death, but that's another story! <g>) Also, if searching a birth or death in the last two weeks (or even the whole)of December, always search the following year whether it be civil or church records.
