Colleen: Thanks for the info. But Stankiewicz is a somewhat common name (unfortunately). It means 'son of Stan'. In Poland there are many, many people with that name. I am not related to any Stankiewicz family members unless they originated in Saginaw, MI or Chorzenice, Poland. I am 99.9% confident in saying that as I have traced my Stankiewicz line back to the 1700's. My grandfather arrived in the US in 1913 and left all of his family behind. Others wanted to come, as proved in letters I have, but never did for one reason or another.
